Embroidery And Colors

Unlike screen printing, the embroidery process is actually utilizing thread to ‘imprint’ or stitch the desired logo, words, etc. onto fabric.  Many people are concerned that there is an additional cost for adding more colors to their design, but in embroidery, that is not as much as a factor. Price concerns can start to arise based on the complexity of the logo and how many ‘stitches’ will need to be implemented.  Most embroidery shops have a wide variety of thread colors at their disposal and can more often than not match the exact PMS color of your logo.  This obviously results in a very precise depiction of your artwork.

Your embroidery shop may ask you for the PMS numbers of your art.. PMS simply stands for the Pantone Matching System and is widely accepted as a standard in color in print shops, screen printing shops and embroidery shops.  You can obtain the PMS numbers of your logo from the original designer who created it, or ask the embroidery shop to match it as closely as humanly possible.
